What’s New with Autodesk 2019?

The new release of AutoCAD 2019 includes specialized software (toolsets) as one application that can be installed separately to access various AutoCAD vertical products including AutoCAD Architecture, AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD Mechanical, AutoCAD MEP, AutoCAD Map 3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, AutoCAD Raster Design and the AutoCAD mobile and web apps.

Review our webinar to learn what’s new in AutoCAD 2019, and get additional insights to help you with your installation and assist you in using these new toolsets in your design workflow process and across desktop, web, and mobile.

What’s New with Revit 2019?

Revit 2019 comes through with new features and enhancements that help multidisciplinary teams deliver projects more productively. With more immersive and modern user experiences, Revit continues to support efficient design and drive innovation. You can model more of your design while in a 3D view for the immersive design experience you prefer. Revit 2019 enables a better workflow between design and detailing with tools that let you model to a higher level of detail, creating better-coordinated and more accurate steel and concrete models.

Review our presentation as Louis Chibbaro, our BIM Specialist here at Microsol Resources, dives deeper into some of the newest features in Revit 2019:

  • Multi-monitor support and tabbed views – Improve working space by organizing and arranging views using tabbed documents that can be docked, tiled, and viewed on multiple monitors.
  • Levels in 3D views – Understand and manipulate important datum heights in your project with the option to display levels in 3D views.
  • Uncropped perspective views – Work in full-screen uncropped perspective view. Move around the view freely with navigation commands such as Zoom, Pan, and Orbit.
  • Double-fill patterns – Communicate design intent by applying both foreground and background fill patterns in cut or surface.
Engineering documentation for steel – Create accurate engineering documentation for structural steel, including details with steel connections.
  • Complex piping networks – Improved pressure drop analysis for complex networks, supporting primary/secondary separation for hydronic systems.

What’s New with BIM 360?

Stay up to date with everything new about Autodesk’s project delivery and construction management software. BIM 360 improves construction project delivery from design collaboration, documentation, and reviews to pre-construction, and through quality and safety and operations. BIM 360 connects the people, data and workflows on your project so you can see the big picture and keep your projects on track.

This is more than a platform change as a single cloud, BIM 360 is the next generation of Collaboration for Revit which includes changes to folder permissions, creating packages sets, exploring design changes, and integrating consumed changes. The backbone of the BIM 360 platform is the Document Management module where we review storage, view, markup, and track document issues.

Watch as Caesar Ruest, Construction Solution Advisor at Autodesk, highlights BIM 360 as a new platform and reviews how to:

  • Link with design files and models from the cloud and create design packages for stakeholders.
  • Leverage iOS or Android devices anywhere and anytime to accelerate decision making by easily providing or soliciting feedback with comment and markup tools on native RVT, DWG, or PDF files.
  • Track the design process with version history that ensures that every design discipline has access to the latest information.
  • Accelerate Revit projects by sharing files like a team in one location; staying connected and organized, at all times.

Intro to Navisworks Manage

Autodesk Navisworks is a comprehensive project review solution that supports coordination, analysis, and communication of design intent and constructibility.

Steven Costa, Director of Technical Services of Microsol Resources, explains how interference management tools help design and construction professionals anticipate and minimize potential problems before construction begins, helping to reduce expensive delays and rework.

Watch this recording and learn how Navisworks makes common coordination tasks and reviews accessible to everyone using tools like Timeliner, Clash Detective, Appearance Profiler and Quantification Workbook. We also cover:

  • How Navisworks Manage plays a vital role in coordinating BIM projects.
  • Create and navigate around a federated model.
  • Understand, filter and manipulate data coming from various 3D formats to facilitate coordination.
  • Explore the key features of the software, such as the Clash Detection, Timeliner, and Quantity Takeoff tools.

What’s New with Civil 3D?

Civil 3D (previously known as AutoCAD Civil 3D) is a dynamic detailed design and documentation tool for civil infrastructure, providing a complete solution for design and plan generation. With powerful features in the areas of civil design, drafting and documentation, and collaboration/ data exchange, you can automate time-consuming tasks to help streamline your project workflows.

Watch, as Steven Costa, Director of Technical Services at Microsol Resources, explores the new features of Civil 3D 2019 release, focusing on design efficiency, production efficiency, and collaboration:

  • Review a number of improvements made to Civil 3D in the Civil 3D 2018.1 & 2018.2 releases, now included in the 2019 release.
  • Learn about adding Fixed Vertical Curves by high or low point to Profiles.
  • Open and save multiple drawings and template files at once to a specified version of Civil 3D effortlessly using the Batch Save Utility.
  • Use the DWG Compare command to show the differences between two drawings.
