What is the difference between the Autodesk BIM 360 products, and how does one determine which product to use during the different stages of a project? Before we can answer that question, first you must know what BIM 360 is.
BIM 360 products are construction management software that enable you almost anytime, anywhere access to project data throughout the building construction life-cycle. BIM 360 empowers those in the field to better anticipate and act, and those in the back office to optimize and manage all aspects of construction performance.
Autodesk has 7 products included in the BIM 360 family, each product focusing on a different solution. The list below has really helped me make sense of it all and understand how each one can help improve the project workflow:
Connect and collaborate with multi-discipline design teams for improved project delivery (formerly known as BIM 360 Team and Collaboration for Revit).
Construction document management built for project team. Keep your team on-track with the latest construction drawings, documents, and models.
Streamline VDC & BIM pre-construction workflows through the acceleration of model coordination and clash detection.
Extend the benefits of your BIM 360 Glue subscription by connecting a coordinated model to the construction layout process to improve the accuracy.
Build more reliable project work plans and reduce waste associated with overproduction, excess inventory and task rework.
Improve construction quality control and job-site safety with cloud-based checklists, equipment tracking, tasks, issues, and daily reports (formerly known as BIM 360 Field).
Maintenance management solution. Begin operations on day one and better meet the needs of your mobile workforce.
Each of these products is specifically designed to help connect project teams during different stages of the design and construction process.
If you’re still not sure which product is the right fit for you, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Happy collaborating 🙂
